Bosal of lasso rope with leather-wrapped ends. (Reins buckle to the reings on the ends).
Attention: never ride with constant presure, but instead pull on the reins for a moment and then release.
Pulling and releasing can be carried out multiple times in succession, as necessary ? signaling riding style!
The bosal always needs a special curb / chin strap, the barbada. (see extra menu item). The Barbada also has two rings for the reins.
The best effect is achieved when riding with four reins.
In general, the lateral bosal reins serve for flexion and bend, and the barbada reins help with bending the neck upward, stopping, collection, and carriage of the head. It is also possible to buckle the reins only to the curb.
The bosal should always be positioned to rest on the bony part of the nose, and varied slightly from time to time.
A further variant is the combination with an additional bit. One of the reins is buckled to the bit, the other rein either to the bosal or the barbada rings.
